Alex Ball

Growing up in the small of town of Sewickley, PA, Alex was very fortuntate that he had many influences at an early age. Attending Sewickley Academy from Nursery School through 12th Grade, he was able to participate in the many different activities that the school provided. From their excellent academic curriculum, to sports teams, to an amazing Arts program, specifically Song & Dance under the guidance of Mario Melodia. It was with Mario that Alex started on his way to becoming an actor at the ripe old age of 7. This was when he started taking Tap Dance classes, and was featured as "Papa Pumpkin" in the 2nd Grade Production of "The Great Pumpkin Patch."
As the years passed, many more productions came and went, in which Alex was the Lead or Featured Performer. But by the end of High School, and with many shows under his belt, Alex was a little burned out. And a career as an actor didn't seem like a viable option. So, off to the University of Vermont, where he immersed himself in college life and the Liberal Arts studies that the college provided. But the acting bug was starting to itch again, and in his sophmore year he participated in the college's production of "City of Angels," the musical, not the Nic Cage movie. After 2 years at UVM (yes, it's not UVT, something about Latin), he decided that Vermont was not the place for him and he needed to be creative and in the arts scene once again.
This is what lead him to the Berklee College of Music in Boston and their Music Production & Engineering Program. Here he once again excelled, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Production & Engineering and graduated Magna Cum Laude. After graduation, he decided that Los Angeles was the place for him to go about his music career, but first there was a pit-stop back in Sewickley. What was supposed to be 3 months turned into a year as he gained employment in a recording studio, where he worked with a wide variety of musical acts, some actually good! But the acting bug again started to itch, and when he was offered a job to work on Kevin Smith's "Dogma" when it shot in Pittsburgh, he jumped at the chance. Working on this film all of his memories about acting came flooding back, and he thought, "Hey, you know what? I think I just might be able to do this, and since I'm planning to move to L.A. anyway..."
And with that, he was off to the great unknown and craziness that is Los Angeles, CA. What did he expect? Easy, the unexpected. And that's what he got. He was extremely fortunate to find steady work behind the scenes on "Friends" and many other Television and Film productions. But it was on "Friends" that he earned his "big break" by being asked to act in a scene with Jennifer Anniston during the show's final season. This lead to many other credits on a variety of Television shows, from "Cold Case" to "Alias" to a recurring role on "Joey." Many of which you can view on this site.
Where will Alex be next? Who knows? But he does know that he will continue to grow as an actor, and looks forward to playing interesting characters in Television and Film.
